Here there is freedom of speech
Political debate centreFreedom of speech is very high on Nieuwspoort’s list of priorities. Nieuwspoort is therefore pre-eminently a debate centre where politicians, journalists, the government and interest groups like to cross swords.
Nieuwspoort is involved with numerous initiatives as a result of its unique position, literally in the centre of political power. For example, Nieuwspoort is working on realising the House of Democracy. Literally a house near the Binnenhof (Dutch Parliament) where both young and old can playfully become acquainted with how our democracy functions. Nieuwspoort is also actively involved with the International Peace Town, whereby the press centre intensively works together with The Hague council.
